The Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus tire is one of the best all-season tires you can get. In fact, Tire Rack uses it as the category benchmark to see how other ultra high performance all-season tires perform. Designed for sports cars, performance sedans, crossovers, and SUVs, the ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus delivers superior performance in dry and wet conditions, along with above average performance in light snow and ice.
This tire uses a performance-tuned, all-season tread compound that has been molded into an asymmetric tread design. Continental has equipped it with SPORTPLUS+ technology, which improves tread life while enhancing grip on wet roads. The result is precise steering and maximum control, along with enhanced braking performance.
The ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus also uses an Alignment Verification System that helps to identify vehicle misalignment concerns even before wear patterns form. It also features Tuned Performance Indicators, which are visible letters molded into the tire’s tread to alert vehicle owners of the tire’s performance levels. For example, a visible “DWS” indicates the tire has the tread depth suitable for dry, wet, and snow conditions. Once the “S” wears away, then the tire should only be used in dry and wet conditions. When only the “D” remains, the tire should only be driven in dry weather.
The Continental ExtremeContacft DWS06 Plus tire features high-strength, 2-ply sidewall construction as well as a Sport Sidewall Insert to improve handling responsiveness.
Pros

Along with outstanding traction, user reviews say the ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus offers a comfortable ride with minimal road noise. Numerous reviews highlight the tire’s precise steering, responsiveness, and cornering capabilities.
Despite being an ultra high performance tire, there are a surprising number of positive reviews concerning the tire’s tread life. It seems the SPORTPLUS+ technology is more than marketing jargon, as owners do say the tire offers excellent value for the money. There are also some comments that the Tuned Performance Indicators come in handy.
Not everything is overwhelmingly positive however, as some owners do comment that the tire’s performance in snow and ice is average. Some caution that dedicated winter tires are still the better way to go, depending on how harsh the winter conditions are. The biggest complaint among users is the tire’s price.

Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus tire Warranty
The Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus tire has an impressive 50,000-mile treadwear warranty, despite being an ultra high performance tire. That treadwear warranty also applies up to six years, or whichever is first. It is worth noting that the mileage is cut in half if you are running a staggered tire setup.
The tire does include a one-year or first 2/32″ of wear uniformity warranty. The same conditions also apply to Continental’s road hazard warranty. The company also provides a 60-day trial on the tire or the first 2/32″ of wear.
