The Cooper Evolution Winter is a studdable winter or snow tire designed for cars, minivans, crossovers, and SUVs. It features a sawtooth center rib, which provides wide contact with the road for better stability. Helping to trap snow for better traction, handling, and braking performance is Cooper’s Snow-Groove Technology. If you need to install studs for better traction on ice, there are pin holes strategically placed throughout the tire’s tread. Finally, the multi-angled corrugated siping gives this tire plenty of biting edges, so you’ll have traction when you need it.
As a winter tire, it meets the industry’s severe snow service rating and is branded with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol. Internally, the Evolution Winter has a one-ply polyester casing with a two-ply sidewall. A pair of wide steel belts is used to support the tread.
It is highly recommended to use the Evolution Winter only in sets of four, so don’t mix these with other winter or snow tires.
Pros
- Excellent winter/snow traction
- Studdable
- Performs well in dry and wet conditions
Cons
- No treadwear warranty
- Can be noisy once studs are installed

Cooper Evolution Winter tire Warranty
The Cooper Evolution Winter is covered by Cooper Tire’s standard limited warranty. That means if the tire becomes unserviceable as a result of an eligible adjustable condition during the first 2/32″ of tread wear, Cooper Tire will replace it with an equivalent new tire free of charge. If the tread has been worn more than 2/32″, a replacement charge will be necessary to get a replacement tire. That replacement charge is determined by multiplying the dealer’s current selling price by the percentage of original tread depth worn from the tire.
The Evolution Winter is not covered by any treadwear protection warranty. It is however, eligible for Cooper’s 45-Day Test Drive Warranty. That covers eligible adjustable conditions only, but if you aren’t satisfied with your tire, you may return them to your original dealer within 45 days of purchase for a free Cooper brand replacement only.
